Made from 100% US-sourced organic cotton, this weft-faced shibori scarf was hand-woven, piece dyed in brazilwood and hand finished in Brooklyn, NY.
Shibori is the Japanese art of manipulating fabric by clamping, twisting, and compressing (among other techniques) to create a resist pattern. A weft pick was woven into these pieces, then was pulled to compress and pleat the fabric before dying. Natural dyes were applied at different stages of the process as is evident in the resisted color.

Care and considerations:
Hand wash cold with gentle ph-neutral detergent. Roll in between towels to remove excess water, then lay flat to dry. Please take care to not over-launder or store in the sunshine.
Due to the organic process of hand weaving, there may be inconsistencies in the pattern, dye and width that make each piece unique and one of a kind. Pieces made with natural dyes have a tendency to fade over time.
